SEASONAL OPERATION -- MAY TO OCTOBER Storyline and exhibit script, which illuminates the social, economic and cultural heritage of St. Lawrence and graphically illustrates the harsh realities of a miner's life through artifacts, stories, photos and interpretive panels. While in town view the Echoes of Valour Monument, which was unveiled in August, 1992 to commemorate victims of the mining industry, and the sea disaster of 1942 when U.S. warships, U.S.S. Truxtun and U.S.S. Pollux, were lost of the coast of St. Lawrence and Lawn. {Location -- Memorial Drive in St. Lawrence} Take a hike along Chambers Cove Trail to the site of the U.S.S. Truxtun disaster. |
